This is New in original mfg box and does have the rubber boot that slides over the end, I added a photo of one that does not have the boot on it so you can see what it looks like underneath the boot, but this one does have it.

The threads in the end measure about 1/2" inside diameter so the actual diameter of the threads is probably more like 9/16 or maybe 5/8.
